CLEANTHIS MAIMAROGLOU President

Cleanthis Meimaroglou has earned his bachelor’s in electrical engineering from City College and his master’s degree in electrical engineering from NYU. He has been a member of the Federation since 1998 and was elected to the Federation’s Board in 2000. Since then he has served as 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, General Secretary and chairman of Cultural Committee. He is a licensed contractor in the installation of electrical, plumbing and fire suppression systems. He is a native of Piraeus, Greece and now resides in Malba New York.

PETROS GALATOULAS First Vice President

Petros first became involved with the Federation over 22 years ago when he represented his society. As he saw the direct impact of the Federation in the Greek Community, he deepened his involvement and served all levels of the Board of Directors and the Executive Board. He served as Chairman of theCulture Committee, Parade Committee, and the Constitutional Committee. And has served 2 succesfull terms as President of the Federation. Professionally, Petros is real-estate investor and a licensed electrician. A native of the Island of Chios, Petros resides with his family in Astoria

DIONYSIOS PILARINOS First Secretary

Mr. Pilarinos is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of progressive experience in diverse information technology environments leading operational initiatives for the creation and optimization of effective revenue-generating digital channels. He has also pursued higher education and graduated with a MBA in Information Systems from Pace University. He has been an active member of the Hellenic community and was first elected to the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Societies of Greater New York in 2007. Mr. Pilarinos hails from the Ionian Islands of Zakynthos & Kerkyra, and resides with his family in New York City.

ATHANASIOS ARONIS Treasurer

Thanasis first became involved with the Federation in 2006 as a representative of the Pan-Erikoussa Society of America. He served as a member of the Culture Committee for four years. In 2010 He was elected to the Board of Directors and served as the Culture Committee Chairman till 2014.From 2010 till the present day he is maintain the Federation’s website, He is also the head of creative design that includes the parade poster. In 2015 he was voted as the General Treasurer by the Board and He is re-elected to that position at present. Professionally, Thanasis is a chef and owns a restaurant in Manhattan for the past 36 years. A native of the Island of Erikoussa, Thanasis resides with His Wife Afroditi and His family in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx NY.

NOMIKI KASTANAS  Second Vice President

Nomiki Kastanas studied communications at Hunter College. Together with her late husband and founder of National Greek TV of U.S.A, Inc., Demetris Kastanas, she managed and operated the first full time cable television channel in the United States. During her 27 year tenure with the Greek Channel, Nomiki conducted many interviews with local officials promoting the interests of the Greek community and played an important role in raising money for several Greek charitable organizations. She was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater NY in June, 2016. as the General Secretary.

SPYRIDOULA TSOUKALA  First Assistant Secretary

Spyridoula was born in Corfu, Greece. She was an active member of the “Regional Equality Commission of Ionian Islands, Member of the “National Sports Centre” Council in Corfu, General Secretary of the historic “Corfu Athletic Club” and Member of the Organizing Committee of the “Hellenic Universities Rectors’ Synod” that took place in Corfu (2013). She moved with her family to New York four years ago. She is a board member of Pankerkyraikos Association of America. This is Spyridoula’s first term as a Federation board Member.

KYRIAKI CHRISOMALLIDES ESQ.  Second Assistant Secretary

Ms. Chrisomallides obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College, and a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University in 2006. She then began practicing in the greater metropolitan area, specializing in medical malpractice defense. Ms. Chrisomallides zealously represents a variety of clients including hospitals, doctors, nurses and other medical providers, from the inception of an action through trial. Ms Chrisomallides has also represented municipalities and property owners in premises liability matters. She is admitted in both New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts. Kyriaki is now serving her second term in the Executive Board of the Federation

ANNA NOTI  Third Assistant Secretary

Mrs. Anna Noti is from Northern Epirus. She grew up in Xeimara and moved to the United States in May of 1997. Studied Early Childhood Education at St. John’s University where she completed her graduate studies as well. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and currently working with children with special needs. she is  married and has  two wonderful boys , Vasilis and Panayiotis. Two years ago  she was elected the Vice President of Himarrioton Society, NY chapter. Anna is serving Her first term as a member of the Federation's Board.

DIMITRIOS PALIOURAS  Assistand Tresurer

Mr. Paliouras was born in Agrinion Greece, 1959 and came to NYC 1975 along with the rest of his family. He attended college for 2 years. Since 1978, He is a member in the AGRINION BENEVOLENT SOCIETY NY “Saint Christopher.” He served the Agrinion Society as a President, as a Secretary, now for the past 15 years he is the Treasurer. Dimitrios is currently the Secretary of the Federation of Sterea Hellas USA & Canada (District of New York) since 1998. And the Secretary of the Federation of Sterea Hellas USA & Canada (since 2016). He resides with his family in Closter, NJ.

GEORGE SERETIS  Media Relations

George was born in Bronx NY and moved to Athens Greece at a young age where he spent his childhood and teen years. George spilt his time between Athens for studies , his village Eleftheriani and his summers in Nafpactos. As a young adult George moved back to NY and started working in the flower industry and has continued for the last 20 years. George is an active member and former President of the Benevolent Eleftheriani Society located in Flushing NY and established in 1917. Also, George serves as the Governor of the youth for the Federation Streas Hellas.
This is George's first term as a Federation board Member.

Stefanos Amanatidis

Stefanos is serving His 3rd term as a member of the federation’s Board. He has served with the Pontian Society for the past 2 decades in all its positions. Here at the Federation he has chaired the parade’s dance committee for 4 years, The parade dance festival is held the Saturday before the parade and it involves dance groous from across Greece and dance groups from the New York tristate aria.

Abby N. Catechis

Abby is serving her 5th term as a member of the Federation’s Board. She represents the Panerikoussa Society of America for the past 30 years and still serves as a executive officer. Since 2000 she has served the Federation’s Cultural Committee and since 2014 the Committee’s Chairperson. Abby works for the NYC’s Board of Education as a teacher and resides in Manhattan.

Vasilios Eglezos

Vasilis is now the longest serving member of the Federations Board, serving consecutively since 2006. He has been serving the Greek Community of Hicksville for the 40 years. He is serving the Federation as a member of the Greek Independence Day Parade’s Raffle Committee And he its best raffle seller. He live with His Family in Hicksville L.I.

Basile Gournelos

Basile first became involved with the Federation in 2012 as a member of the Board. He has served as the 2nd Vice President, Chairman of the Parade Committee, and as Chairman of the raffle Committee, which has a record in tickets sold as he took over. Every Monday night at 8:00pm He hosts the Federation’s Radio program at ELLAS FM. Professionally, Basile is in real-estate and He is a master jeweler. A native of Diplatanos Sterea Ellas, Basile resides with His wife Martha and family in Whitestone NY.

John Nikolopoulos

Mr. John Nikolopoulos is now serving His 2nd term as a member of the Federation’s Board. Hi is a renowned pastry chef and owns the Bay ridge Bakery in Brooklyn. For the past 3 years he opens The Greek Independence Day Parade riding on a white horse representing Karaiskais. John resides in Brooklyn with his family.
